  • Pry Tool Set
  • Anti-Static Wrist Band
  • Replacement Tungsten T5 Battery

 Repair Instructions

Tungsten Case Back
Step 1: First, don't forget to backup your data! Sync your device or backup to an SD card before starting your work. Then turn your Tungsten T5 over, with the screen facing down. Remove the 4 torx screws as shown in the picture to the left.
 Remove case clips
Step 2:  Now that you have removed the screws: Using a PDA pry tool, genetly release the clips on the side of the back of the PDA casing. Be careful because the speaker is on the back case and you don't want to break it, and also be careful to release the case tabs gently. Once free lift up to remove the case and put it to the side of the unit.
 T5 Top Cover
Note: With the case removed you might notice the small plastic peice at the top of the unit. This just losely attaches to the logic board, covering the memory slot and housing the power switch. If it falls off you can just put it back on.
 T5 back cover with battery.
Step 3: The battery is held with a mild adhesive onto the back of the T5 casing. Just pry with a screw driver or similiar tool to release the battery, and then remove the solder points on the T5 motherboard. Remove the old solder from both points and clean them. Put some double sided tape on the new battery and place it in the same location on the back cover, and then resolder the same points (make sure to maintain the correct wire colors!)

Step 4: Now that you have installed the new battery, just put the back case back onto your T5. It just snaps back together - put the casing in first near the bottom ports, and just snap it back into place. Screw back the original four screws, and then charge up your T5 and test it. Give yourself a pat on the back and get a cold drink :).
